Martha has been a resident of Upper Gwynedd for 30 years. Martha received her Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University and her MBA in Management from DeSales University. Martha attained both degrees by attending night school, while working a full-time job during the day. Martha has more than 35 years of engineering, security, quality and compliance management experience from federal and commercial system and software development businesses, including leadership positions with GE, Lockheed Martin and, most recently as the VP of System Quality and Compliance at Reed Technology and Information Services. She retired in June 2016 and now volunteers as a Medicare counselor; and also volunteers as an executive consultant to small non-profits and highlighting STEM opportunities for young adults. She lives with her husband, Frank Custer, and has two adult children, Rebecca and Jonathan.
She serves as a member of the Board for Victim Services Center (VSC) of Montgomery County and the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of Montgomery County. She has served as a committee person and a municipal chair for the Upper Gwynedd Democrats.
